I got a vid of its regained power, but it has some mild language in it from me being surprised. Uploading now.

Looks like you spun the tires pretty good there when it shot to 50. Gotta think about something a little grippier. Gotta love a big V6 in a small truck

Yeah it started spinning at 25-30 when I floored it all the way up to 55. I find it odd that it ran like total **** for the first idle and drive, barreled smoke, so I got pissed, shut it off. Came back out, went around the block, was still running crappy, until before I did the tire spinning, the CEL went out. Maybe a few of the o-rings still hadn't swelled up a bit and were leaking, then fully seated.

Probably got just a little coolant down the intake ports, took a few minutes to burn it all out. Keep an eye on it, if it runs fine for awhile, you're cool.

BTW, if you want to svae some money on rust repair, you might be able to find a bed from a utility bed dealer for pretty cheap. They usually have a few they've taken off of customer'* trucks to install their product. Just find one the right color and make an offer.
Too bad it'* not white, I could get you one immediately.

Yeah I am def. considering a "new" used bed. This one is just absolutely terrible. Just so beaten up. I already have the cab corners and rockers being taken care of by my dad'* friend. He is a total GM nut. He is currently building a 97 Chevy dually with a blown 502 in it.

I'm looking for a 2.8L, 2x4, extended cab, short bed, *-10 myself. I really want to do an L67 swap into an *-10. I think the old boxy body would be cooler, but trying to find one without massive rust is impossible.
Think about it, L67, RWD, fairly light, even compared to the Camaro or GP, and the motor should be a drop-in, with minor mounting changes...

Heh in Ohio, good luck finding a 82-93 S10. Like every one is rusty that I came across. After shopping for cars, I looked to trucks, and every older S10 I looked at was a rusty pile of crap. Actually if anything, get a 94+ and drop a S2 L67 in it. It should work very well because of the hump in the firewall.

Yah, exactly. Anything that will fit the 4.3 has enough room and more for the 3.8, only question is whether I need to fabricate mounts. If I do, then I can just get any 4-banger and work it from there. If they're the same, or close, I'd want to find the v6, to limit costs.
