Bonneville HHRocket?
I was doing a google image search for Bonneville and found this....(Wrong Bonneville but cool article)

WHen I went down to the So-Cal speed shop in December they were talking about it and how they had to take horsepower out of top gear to increase speed.
The car was gone but they did have a large mural and many magazines to hand out.
John at the front counter was not sure of all the mods done to it but did say the execs from GM would make frequent visits when it was being built.
He pulled out a sheet metal intake from the back that was discarded because of a bad weld (not that I could see it), I would guess its as big as the ecotec itself at least in displacment.
