Default Padgett cute XA you have there, I looked into the tC

Hey there, I just saw that you got a new XA, I looked at those when they first came out, however the dash pod was an issue I had with them (like the Saturn Ion) I am sure I would adjust to it someday if I would have bought it. I had my Trans Am at that time and the salesman (lady really) talked me out of it and to wait for the tC to come out. I waited and waited and when the first one arrived in Tucson she called me up. WOW is all I can still say about the tC a small light car with the Camry motor. I loved the glass top they have and the fact that the rear seats reclined in it also (makes me think back to our G35 we had) the start out price for the tC was a gem to me (16k something) for a small nimble sporty semi fast car. However the few options which are really not even options but add on items to the car bring the price upward to around 20k. I have yet to see a tC I would buy for that fact as almost all I have looked at have the 300 rear spoiler, 700-1200 rocker and bumper treatment, mood lighting inside/air intake/exhaust system and so forth.

The tC made me think back to when my sister got her first storm in 90 it was a yellow Gsi so it had everything that you could have on a storm and for 12k back then and being a light car with 135hp it was decently fast around town and got some awesome mpg! She lost the 90 storm in Kansas in a tornado only had 27k miles on it, she was going to buy a Saturn but the salesman told her that they wouldn’t ever make a yellow Saturn cause it wouldn’t ever sell. She went and requested a teal storm 91 by then and got it and kept the 91 until 2004 when she sold the storm it had a little over 373k miles on it, she replaced the motor at 112k due to having a bad air intake hose and not getting it fixed, a set of struts around the car several mufflers a alternator, thermostat, brakes of course, and a few small plastic parts and covers on the inside of the car. She paid around 13500 for the 91 GSI when she got it due to the fact they had to get the car brought to Kansas from Colorado since that was the new color for that year and there wasn’t many around then, but I still think that it was a awesome deal seeing how many miles she put on the car! She has a 89 Mr2 supercharge with T-Tops now days but still always finds her self stopping to look at storms when she sees one for sale, but she is very picky cause of the fact that both of hers was new and I doubt she will ever find another storm she would buy and be happy with.

The storm was a cheap fun to drive car at that time and it had a really really really poor resale value (most Isuzu autos back then did) I recall when she was going to trade the car in for a new tracker in 94 and it only had 39k on it and they told her they could give her 2100 for the storm, we almost had to drag her out of the place. I highly doubt that the tC will go the same with poor resale (been watching and checking them out) But I am keeping my fingers crossed that maybe in a half or a year that prices on the ones with like 20-35k will be dropped down to a decent range of 7-9k I would buy one then for sure, I don’t really want a loaded up with the add on’* and that’* one of the reasons I wont buy a new one, all the dealers tend to load them up as soon as it rolls off the truck to try to make selling the car a better deal for them.  Oh well I guess maybe someday I will mind a basic one with no add ons and will be able to grab it before they molest it.

I do like the XA and don’t care much for that XB (looks like a bread box to me) I love the style the XA has, I never caught how much it did look like the Trans sport, I always thought of them as a 4 door mini cooper  Did they load yours up with many add things? I have noticed that almost all scion dealers do this with all of there line up not just the tC

Nice, them mister-two'* with the 4A-GZE are pretty rare.

The tC comes well equipped from the get-go as far as I know - things like the 17" wheels come standard. Though they're in high demand: if you want an automatic version, you can get it right away, but for a manual, there'* a wait list

At ~3000lbs, they're not the lightest thing out there, but the (relatively) big 2.4L Camry motor should pull it around with authority.

I have no clue myself other than the fact that the person I was talking to with the message used to have an 87-91 Bonneville.

I was sure that he would get the message here, and not sure he would find or get it if placed in another forum. Other than the fact that I have a 91 SSE....

I type all day at work, I am a Operations Manager so I never get tired of typing, just make lots of mistakes depending on how busy of a day and all at work.
