I like laundry day
Sorting through the quarters and I found these two little gems:
The US quarter is from 1963. The Canadian quarter is from 1959. Silver just sounds so good klinking together!

Both are common-dates, so they are worth....oh, about a quarter each. Especially in circulated condition. Might be more valuable as metal, but I think they are silver ALLOY, not pure silver. I can't recall when the alloy coins started. Still, pretty neat to find them out in circulation!

I figured that they were probably high mintage. Still cool though. From a casual coin collector stand point, it'* a pretty rare find. I'm actually collecting any coins from the 60'* and back. The way I look at it, before too long all those coins will be hard to come by too.

I have been filtering through coins in the cash drawer at work when I close-out and over the past few months and have managed to pull about 5 pre-1964 quarters and half a dozen pre-1964 dimes. Straight swap with my newer quarters and dimes and my boss said he doesn't care as they'd never catch em.

Yeah, I've got a 1963 quarter somewhere around here....I didn't even notice till i just happen to drop it and a couple others when i was about to use it...when it hit the floor i'm like, you're KIDDING. obviously wasn't copper.
i've got quite a few coins here. wonder if they're worth anything
