Watch the idiot in a car turn into a semi. Watch a semi driver make a hard choice and save the drivers life and destroy his rig, not to mention risking his own life.

Looks like the driver did more damage swerving that if they had just let the car bounce off of them...

God put mirrors on our cars for a reason. I would have held straight, the risk of crossing on to on coming traffic isn't worth saving a driver like that.

If the semi had held his lane at the angle the car came in, I think the car would have been overun and crushed. There is way to much weight difference there. Hard to tell with the amount of vid we can see, and the physics involved. Either way, the idiot'* and idiot.

They don't show what happens to the trailer but from the last of what you can see, it looks like it is about to fall over and cover a good 3 lanes at least of oncoming traffic. I bet that got ugly.

Would be cool to see it all. From the angle and speed, I think it a safe bet the whole mess ended on it'* side and strung across the lanes.

I always wait until I can see the semi well in my rearview before merging. Wish everyone did the same

There was no excuse for the changing lanes into the truck like that on the car'* part. They had to be not looking at all. I can lose a small car in my blind spot <thank goodness for blindspot mirrors> but I can't lose a truck.

We wish the same thing too.

Not sure if this is everywhere, but in NY, if your merging onto a highway, you HAVE to yield the right of way. Which means, if you can't merge, then you STOP.

Most of us truck drivers always attempt to move to the other lane when we see traffic trying to merge. It'* not required, but we do it out of courtesy.

Then you have the idiots that will sit right next to a truck after merging not realizing, that most of us are governed at 60-65MPH. WE CAN'T ACCELERLATE TO MOVE PAST YOU! Move up so we can move back over gramma!

One thing they always stressed in truck school. If it'* human, dump the truck, if its a pet, wild animal, DON'T PANIC STOP. Line them up with center bumper and pray they don't take your trailer lines out.

I could go on all day ranting about the way people act like idiots around trucks. Just remember, with 80,000lbs at our finger tips, we can play god.
