Questions about '92 Caddy Seville (the new 90'* style)
I know these have the 4.9 PFI (200hp, 275tq), but is the 4T60E HD attached to them, or just a standard duty 4T60E, or a 4T80E? Also, if anyone knows, what are any common problems with these cars? I know they have a lot of electronics, but I talked with a cadillac guy I know near me, and he said that these particular cars were fairly reliable from 92+ with the 4.9. Let me know, I am going to check one out today, pics to come.

No one knows? I am going to look at it in about a hour and 45 mins, so i'll get some pics and such, or if it passes my inspection (I got jack, jackstands, poker for rust if there is any, a cheesy OBD I scanner, and a flashlight) I may be bringing it home tonight if all goes well.

$hit. Why are they crappo cars? For anyone that wants to know, I have had bonnevilles at the top of my list, unfortunantely, none are for sale in my area, except for the '97 SSE with the blown trans.

No, actually they were good...
But you move from wreck to wreck. If we can slow you down at least once, you'll save money and be able to buy something a bit nicer.

Big NO. Had many leaks, and overheated in the driveway when it was idling for only 10 mins. Plus it was pretty beat up.
BUT! I found a local Repo lot that sells MANY Pontiacs and GMs Repo'ed for $999 and up. I'm gonna go check that out.

I bought my bonneville for $400 cause it seemed like a good deal. By the time I put it on the road and started driving it, I was at $1800 including the cost of the car.
The 98 GP GT I bought my brother for $400 was a great deal, but inorder to get it drivable for him, we had to put another $1500 into it.
Save your money. There are a bunch of nice cars in Rochester for $1500-2500 that would work for you, and I found a 2000 SE in Syracuse, NY for $3999.

*sigh*
Those early Sevilles were nice, but a dated powertrain.
You really need to sit back, count all your chickens and find a good car. I'll echo the thoughts of many others posted here that bouncing from wreck to wreck is a badddd move.

FINALLY GOOD GOD! I found a goodie! '88 S10 4x4, 4.3. BABIED by the owner, new everything on it, brake lines, pads, shoes, fuel lines, filter, tune up, new shocks/struts, tranny filter and fluid, etc. only has a little rust on the body, very clean on the underside, for only a grand. 103k on it. I am going to look at it tomorrow.
