People, take it to the track.

http://www.10tv.com/?sec=&story=site...295620857.html

Apparently, he was doing a roll race with another car, and a third car filming them from behind, driven by his wife. At any rate, he lost control at something north of 110mph, crossed the median, and head-on'd another car that was doing 70. His GTO split in half, he was ejected, and killed. The other driver is stiil in "Critical" condition.

I only talked with him a few times, but he was a good guy. How he got into something this stupid....

Too sad.
The same thing happened to a good friend of mine back in highschool.
He used his inheritance to buy a Hipo 67 Camero and was racing on Interstate 81 here in NY. Father & son both gone within months of each other. :(

This is exactly why so many government bodies are passing laws with heavy penalties against this behaviour. It'* foolish and completely irresponsible.

Jwakamud, the scary thing is that he used to say EXACTLY the same.

BTW the local TV news is now doing shooting a 3-day series on the perils of street racing. They've outed the local racing community website, trying to paint it out to be "A secret underground network" of illegal racing.

Man.... I can\\\'t even imagine what it was like for his wife to watch..
And that was all I thought about while reading this post. I choose not to do it on the street because of possible consequences, like this one.

that'* really sad to hear. there'* nothing wrong with a little fun taking off from a stoplight, but when you're doing 30-50mph over the speed limit, racing on populated roads - that'* jsut stupid.
