Default Just bought a 93 olds cutlass supreme convertible

Well I finally bought another car and it doesnt have a L67 or a L36 in it but I still love the car. I got a 93 cutty convertible with the LQ1 3.4 engine. Yea I know these engines can be a huge a$$ headache but I love the car and have had alot of success with oldsmobile in the past (before the bonne thats all I ever had) So now I need to figure out what Im gonna do with the bonne, I want to keep it so I guess I should have it towed somewhere and looked at. When I get some pics of the cutty I will post them up in the "your ride" section.

O yes I know, PITA only scratches the surface for these X-motors. I have buddies with lumina'* and MC'* with it and just looking at the engine sometimes hurts!
I got it because I needed a car and Ive always wanted one of these and the price was right. lol, the weather has been so nice here so far this winter, watch now that I have a vert its going to non stop snow now till april.

lol. I wouldn't doubt it. They are nice cars. I looked at one when i 1st got my license but i couldn't afford it. Kinda of glad i didn't buy it knowing what I know now, but if you take care of it, it should last a while.

Heheh... Have fun with that pain in the *** 3.4 TDC. I was scared away from one when people told me what was involved to do a simple alternator change.

I looked at one of those shortly after wrecking the Bonnie...price was way tooo high, especially considering the convertible top was in bad shape, and many of the seals around the doors were visibly falling off.

Aside from that it was a sharp looking car, a nice deep green, I could see myself pickin up a lady or two in it, they do love the convertibles.

I was also aware of what it had under the hood....kinda made me a bit nervous when i saw the "DOHC 3400" badge on the side.

L67 swap is dead simple in this case, just do the whole subframe/engine assembly from a GP/Regal/Monte.

I always loved those convertibles. I like the "roll bar" looking piece on them. It made them even more unique than the Cutlass already was. I got a 94 coupe in 2004, but it had the less problematic 3100, not the 3.4. Hopefully it does not give you problems.
