i actually do quality control for a call center that does outbound telemarketing {basically i listen to calls & make sure everyone'* doing what they're supposed to be doing}..... guidelines may vary from vendor to vendor but most clients want the telemarketers to rebuttal twice {meaning after u say "no" once, they have to try again} unless its a campaign where we are calling current customers...and not just random people so to speak. But yeah, they do have all of ur basic info when they call {name, address, telephone number} so if u get the right person exposed to that...they can do things with it.....i remember one girl i worked with got called all manner of evil by this guy over the phone....so she wrote the number down, walked to the breakroom and called the man back......i couldn't believe she actually did it but it was funny at the same time.
And when you request to be put on the DNC list, they're suppose to stop and read the whole disclosure saying how it might take 6-12 weeks....etc....etc....and give you the 1-800, 1-877, 1-888, 1-whatever number at the end of it all

We keep getting window places calling us, i've asked numerous times to take me off their call list but they don't, so now i let them go through their bit then ask them to come out for a estimate then tell them no thanks not interested. I know this seems extreme but they just don't listen. :?
