wedding planning...HELP!
So, most everything but the music is all set for my fiance'* and my wedding on August 5th. One thing remains: we need a first dance song. We'd prefer something country or soft rock. I've considered the candlelight remix of Cascada'* "Everytime We Touch", but it seems too...dependent and needy. We've also considered Clint Black'* "Like the Rain" or "When i Said I Do". Any suggestions, all?
Thanks in advance!

Artist/Band: Confederate Railroad
Song: Trashy Women
Album: Confederate Railroad
Well, I was raised in a sophisticated kind of style.
Yeah, my taste in music and women drove my folks half wild.
Mom and Dad had a plan for me,
It was debutantes and er-symphonies,
But I like my music; I like my women wild.
Yeah, an' I like my women just a little on the trashy side,
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed.
Too much lipstick an' er too much rouge,
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused.
An' I like my women just a little on the trashy side.
Shoulda seen the looks on the faces of my Dad and Mom,
When I showed up at the door with a date for the senior prom.
They said: "Well, pardon us son, she ain't no kid.
"That'* a cocktail waitress in a Dolly Parton wig.
I said: "I know it dad, ain't she cool, that'* the kind I dig."
Yeah, an' I like my women just a little on the trashy side,
When they wear their clothes too tight and their hair is dyed.
Too much lipstick an' er too much rouge,
Gets me excited, leaves me feeling confused.
An' I like my women just a little on the trashy side.
Instrumental break.
I like 'em sweet, I like 'em with a heart of gold.
Yeah an' I like 'em brassy, I like 'em brazen and bold.
Well, they say that opposites attract, well, I don't agree
I want a woman just as tacky as me.
Yeah, I like my women just a little on the trashy side.

He'* living proof that you're asking the wrong people. j/k
Mom and dad used The Judds. I don't remember what song it was, but I'm a rocker, so of course I hated it.

Seriously, it may not be slow enough but what about Dixie Chicks "Cowboy Take Me Away".
The Missus always requests that one when we go out.
Or Chris LeDoux "Look At You Girl"
Don't know if the groom gets to pick a song, but Chris LeDoux'* "Tougher Than The Rest" is a good one!! Nice, medium paced Cowboy ChaCha
The Missus always requests that one when we go out.
Or Chris LeDoux "Look At You Girl"
Just look at you, girl:
Standin' here beside me;
Starlight on your hair,
Lookin' like a dream I dreamed somewhere.
And look at me, girl:
You got me actin' just like a lover,
In an old time picture show.
And how I got the part, I just don't know.
But it'* written all across your face,
As plain as it can be.
You're the one that I was lookin' for,
Now you're all that I can see.
You mean everything to me.
And I'd do anything,
To have you stay forever.
I'm an ordinary man,
But I feel like I could do anything in the world.
When I look at you, girl.
Just look at you, girl,
Walkin' here beside me;
(In) The misty morning light,
I see my own reflection in your eyes.
And just smile at me, girl:
With eyes that tell a story,
That words can never say;
Tellin' me your love is gonna stay.
And we're standin' right together now,
In everything we do.
And if my world should come apart,
I'll still be lovin' you.
You mean everything to me.
And I'd do anything,
To have you stay forever.
I'm an ordinary man,
But I feel like I could do anything in the world.
When I look at you, girl.

Well it'* Saturday night
You're all dressed up in blue
I been watching you a while
Maybe, you've been watching me too
So somebody ran out
Left somebody'* heart in a mess
Well if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest
Some girls they want a handsome Dan
Or some good looking Joe,
On their arm some girls like a sweet-talkin' Romeo
Well around here baby
I've learned you get what you can get
So if you're rough enough for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest
Oh, your road is dark
And it'* a thin, thin line
But I want you to know I'd walk it for you any time
And all your other boyfriends
They couldn't pass the test
So if your looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest
Well it ain't no secret
I've been around a time or two
Well I don't know, but maybe you've been around too
Well there'* another dance
All you gotta do is say yes
And if you're looking for love
Honey I'm tougher than the rest
If you're rough enough for love
Baby I'm tougher than the rest
You're all dressed up in blue
I been watching you a while
Maybe, you've been watching me too

you should try just doing a search on the net, like use google... i'm not trying to pawn you off onto someone elses stuff but i'm a DJ myself and when people ask me for suggestions thats where i'd look, or if i need help picking something out... there are TONS of web sites devoted to things such as this. those songs are really a personal thing so its hard for people to make suggestions, but maybe bump you into the right direction.

Mos, I like your first suggestion the best, but I had to axe Redneck Girl despite its appropriateness...Mom wants something mushier I think that'* a similar situation. :( "Tougher than the Rest" is a good option.
JR's3800, that would work if I wore colors other than black and blue! They hide cat hair better...
Darrel, that'* a good suggestion! I hadn't even thought about seeing if the Google monster could burp up anything useful! Thanks!
