This may seem like an unusual request, but I'll try anyway.

I know some of you guys are big into computers, so I figure somebody has an extra PC CD burner drive sitting around. Would anybody be willing to give me one for free? I'll pay shipping of course. The old burner on my PC doesn't want to write any more than 8 or 9 songs on an audio CD, and my wife and I don't want to cough up the money for a new one.

have you tried a different burning program to see if it is a software issue and not a hardware issue?

The program is Windows Media Player, so I don't think it'* the software. It always used to work, and now it doesn't. I got it from a friend who said it might have some issues, and it worked for a while, but now there'* something wrong with it. I haven't updated Windows Media or changed drivers in that time, so I'm not sure what'* going on.

I guess you're right, Toasty.... I had seen prices of ~$30 at Walmart, and my wife didn't think it was worth it to buy one. They are pretty cheap online, but I'll still take a donation if anybody'* willing!

What color? I have a black one laying around. only replaced it cuz I got a dvd burner, It'* either 32 or 48x, I forget.

Color isn't really crucial. The rest of my system is white, but a free drive is a free drive! Feel like shipping it off to me?
