Yep. It can happen. I dislocated my toe yesterday 180ing up 5 stairs on my bike yesterday. I was going pretty fast and i put my foot behind me to slow down but apparently the toe next to my big one didn't want to cooperate. I didn't feel pain or anything but it just didn't feel right. I took my shoe and sock off and i knew right away it was dislocated.. I pulled on it as hard as I could but I couldn't get it to pop back in.. This was in downtowm philly so i slid my shoe back on and rode my bike to the hospital. they wouldn't let me put my bike anywhere so i got a buddy to drop by and lock it up. everything was going good.. x-rays showed no break and it looked like it would pop right in. They numbed me up and 3 people all tried to put it back in but couldn't. It turns out that i had a rare dislocation where the ligiments get in the way of popping it back in and fter an hour or so of trying they decided i needed surgery. Once the local anesthetic (sp?) wore off I pretty much just wanted to chop my toe off and say the hell with it since they were tugging and moving it around to much. i got x-rays agian and then had it operated on. Now I'm just waiting to get some brief physical therapy and get outta here. sorry for the huge paragraph. the enter button dosen't work on this hospital room tv/keayboard deal. anyways i still can't believe i needed surgery.

Get better...that bike doesn't appear to be your friend...lol

Is this the left foot or the right?

If the left, just cut the whole darn foot off and be done with it. You don't need tthat one to drive your Bonne.

I had a few nice skateboarding injuries in my youger days, I feel for you.
Hope you at least had a cute nurse or two.

If he would have been driviing the Bonnie instead of riding the bike, this would have never happenned.

Haha. It'* the right one. I totalled my bonnie last year and I was driving a 90 regal for a while but that has a rod knock now. I was actually just killing time before I caught a train to go home. I'm probably going to borrow my buddies 95ish golf though. He recently got a new car. Taking the train and all the to work involves a lot of walking. Believe it or not, I've been doing this sort of thing for 10 years and this is the most pain i've been in from it.

Well, for 10 years, I'd daying you're doing pretty good. WHo needs a toe anyway? Just cut it off and don't wear sandals.

Here is a pic from about an hour after I dislocated it. It was pretty swollen by then and looked way better than when I first did it.
This next pic is after 3 hours of pulling by 5 different people. (I did say 3 before but it was actually 4 different residents and 1 Ortho Dr.)
And finally how it looks now. Nice little pin with a monopoly piece on top.

It could have been a lot worse and I'm greatful none of the ligaments were severed.
I even have sick and vacation time saved up so I don't have to worry about work for a couple days.

That looks like it mighta hurt a little bit. Enjoy your time off as best you can.
