Default PC hardware problem

Computer, Dell XPS Pentium 4, 3.40 GHZ, 1024 Ram XP OP. 250 Gig HD. 2 years old.
Problem, once in a while I hear a steading clicking sound coming from the tower, about 2 times per second, and sometimes lasts fanywhere from 2 seconds to 20 seconds. When this happens the PC freezes up and I have to wait for the sound to stop before the pc unfreezes. It happens more when the pc has been on for awhile and the sound seems to be coming from the hard drive. I presently have approximatly 10 Gigs stored on the 250 Gig hard drive and this is the most I've ever had on it. Once it has lasted more then 20 second and I decided to shut down and reboot.

Any suggestions?

I have no idea how much warranty there is on a Dell Computer. Dell is the only computers I've ever owned, but I've never had to use the warranty. I believe the PC is 2 years 3 months old.

Call Dell, and give them your Serial number, they will check to see if you are under warrenty, if so, they will give you a location of the nearest Dell repair center, and you can have it fixed there.
