Default What to Do On A Rainy Day- Trunk Inventory!

Ya it was pouring rain today....
BuickandRainyDay_zps12ba993f.jpg
Time to sort out this mess and empty it out...the back corner contains..
Jumper cables far back under there, a shovel, 120 volt extension cord, emergency triangles with a compressor & rotating beacon light on top..
and then a 2 million candle flash light will get stuffed in there with spare v-belts and more crap.
BuickTrunk_zpsa081b147.jpg
Ok I have a cargo box loaded with fluids and everything else from..
Spare fuses to spare headlight bulbs, vacuum hoses, wire, gloves, polish /rags funnel ..
TrunkBox1_zpsb3859a16.jpg
Ok so I sort out that mess and add spares and all the extra rad & Heater Hoses/clamps etc, before I stuff box back into the trunk again.
TrunkBox2_zps2bc48585.jpg
Ok so onto left rear add in the tool sets/box, antifreeze tester, oil filter,, hunting knife, folding chair that in the orange bag, dust pan& broom, golf umbrellas..
TrunkBox3_zps82043795.jpg
TrunkBox4_zps29821ed7.jpg
Then onto first aid, right side in red with spare warm clothes, I think there is a frisbee on the bottom too!
A bucket of more stuff, paper towels, windshield fluids, antifreeze, sponges/soaps, Fire extinguisher & squeegee, smaller quick umbrella, windex ..
Knap sack packed with more stuff for hiking with food clothes, hotel gear...
Hey and I still have room for one more bag!...
I mean really do I need all this stuff or am I loosing it or what?...

Paranoia.

But, I'm going to play center field for Murphy'* Law and tell you with all the stuff you have, and when it does come time for the **** to hit the fan, you won't have what you need.

One thing you can add, which is just an ounce more of security, go to walmart and BUY a cheap flip cell phone. But don't activate it. I know in the US, all cell phones regardless of activation status, STILL must be able to call 911. Stuff it in the glove box with its own dedicated charger.

I don't keep anything more than what will fit in my milk crate normally. Usually a bottle of oil and coolant, spare belts, flashlight, portable compressor, rags, and a couple misc items. That'* just my rule of thumb for maintaining usable trunk space. Of course right now all my tools and my detailing chemicals are in there as well (due to living in Air Force single housing)

Art,

Hope to have the time to do what you did with your trunk. I also store some of my auto chemicals in a black storage trunk like you have. After a few moves, some of those containers have leaked and I need to now clean all my containers in the trunk. Almost think I should put the chems individually in a zip lock freezer bag in case the leak they stuff won't get on all the rest of the containers.

all that crap must be heavy, how you supposed to get stuff at the store or something. i only carry speakers in the back during the summer and during the winter i have a small box with jumper cables, gloves, winter hat, small blanket, fiber candy bar, and snow brush. the rest is why i have AAA
