Alright, so my Dad has a '95 Suburban with the 5.7 liter. He wants more performance out of it. So, we are probably going to do the exhaust. We want it to sound MEAN. Anything we can do to the engine for cheap to give it some power and to make it sound louder/ meaner? I'm open to all suggestions on it.

For the exhaust, we are probably going to do a single inlet/ dual outlet muffler. I have a buddy who can weld it in for me, but where can I get the pipe that brings it back to the rear on the drivers side, or will I have to get a shop to fabricate that for me?

Anything I can do to the intake to make it suck in more air/ sound bigger? I have seen a few air intakes on eBay and a nice one from K&N. Currently we have the K&N stock replacement filter in it.

Mostly I would like the 'burban to sound meaner and also have a little bit more "go" in it. Those engines didn't really have much in them, so we are looking to give it some extra. But on a budget.

On 95'* you should still have the round air cleaner on it.....Just flip the top cover up side down and spin it back on.....Same effect as buying a K&N but this is free. Exhaust.....You'd be better off going with a true dual set up with Flowmaster Baby Flow mufflers.....Don't be fooled by the name of them....they're some beefy assed sounding mufflers.....Like stock car style sounds. Either way you'll have to get the piping fab'd up somewhere.

How much will the true dual exhaust cost me? How much better would it be than the single muffler unit? How much more sound am I going to get out of it?

A single muffler wont do much, not nearly as much as a dual setup with headers. I'm sure a decent set of headers will be aruond $150-200, and whatever you do for exhaust. Some Flowmaster super 40'* would really rip. Then again, nothing is as in your face as glass packs and straight pipes.

Probably be lookin 150-200 bux for a true dual set up I think.....But don't get headers....waste of money on 350'*. Try to find vortec exhaust manifolds.....They actuallly out flow most headers and you could find them at a salvage yard ccheap.
