DING DING DING. We have a winner. Pull up a chair and let me spin you a yarn.
It would seem, according to the cop, I was in a accident, and I had no ins at that time, and I failed to pay for the damages of said accident. So the DMV suspended my plates, even though I just renewed them, and they took the money.
So I says to the cop, you can see this car has not been in any accidents, it has been stored for the past 6 months and I just got it out yesterday. Also, I have ins, I have never been without it. He didn't care. I said can you just give me a warning and I'll clear this all up tomorrow. Nope, I have to give you a ticket, you can contest it if you wish. Fine, write it up, mind if I go in and get my son? I come out, he hands me the ticket and explains it all to me. Dang, really? $175.30 Are you kidding? So now, I have to take time out of my day tomorrow, something I really don't have a lot of. Take proof of ins to the DMV, get them to straighten out my record because it'* obvious they made a mistake. Then go down to see the DA and get the ticket removed. Nice.

I even said that to him, only accident I had was a deer, and I don't think it was going to go after me. I find it funny that his records say the DMV says I had a accident, but he doesn't show me as having a accident, other then the deer.

DING DING DING!. That would have been my guess. I hate dealing with 3 arms of the law at one time. The DMV, Police, and the Courts never seem to bee on the same page. And usually it'* the DMV thats screwed up and they hate to admit it. Hope ya get it all taken care of.
