Vaccation to a Car Show
Tommorrow morning by 9:00 i'll be off to Carlisle Pa. for the All FORD Nationals!!!
too bad every year this weekend for at least the last 4 years it has rained....o well
This year is the 40th Anniversary for the Mercury Cougar, we're showing dad'* '67 Merc Cougar. It has won a 3rd and 2nd in its class at the show before!
pics:
Most recent photo of the engine, bout 2 weeks ago...its a 289ci, only problem i have with it is those damn ugly yellow spark plug wires...and the headers were purple, paint has burned off 3 times now, it is high heat header paint but still burns off...
heres an older picture, about 3 or 4 years ago, still one of the best pictures of the Cat
Headlight Doors do work, they flip up, all on the stock system. Tails are sequential and also work

Have fun at the show! I really want to get to Carlisle one of these days. That would make for a great vacation to go there, and then over to New York to the baseball hall of fame. The wife would love that!
I had an '89 Cougar just like that but white. I loved that car. I had decent power and drove great. Even with rwd it handled fine in the snow.

I'm up here at the Nationals now. man this is fun! so far we have about 100 cougars, and were expecting about 50 to 100 mor tommorrow. we're gonna have to squeeze 'em in tommorrow because there are more cougars then we expected. there is such a great turn out. so far just a little bit of a shower today 'round 8:00 or 9:00-ish, right after the drag racing ended at South Mountain Dragway.
this is so fun...i'll have to post some pictures once i get back.
only other problem we have is the alternator has a short so its draining the battery on the cougar when its not running so we have to disconnect it everytime we park.
Ford had some vehicles that they brought for people to test drive and i took each one for a spin. Ford Fusion, Edge, F-150, F350 Superduty and Mercury Mariner Hybrid. that hybrid is annnoying though, wouldn't want one of those...
anyway post y'alll when i get back

Hey Guys, i'm back!
the show was so much fun, I don't know the exact count but there was about 160 Mercury Cougars at the show!
we have a ton of pictures, i'll post just a few, like the best of the show and the burn out contest was awesome!
there wasn't any rain untill midways of the drive back down to Va. made for a long boring tip back home but whatever, about 5 hours, which isn't too bad.
i'll get around to pictures probably tomorrow or sometime this week.
oh yeah, i almost forgot, i carded a couple Bonnevilles up there, one was on the show field by a vendor
