*RIINNNNGGG* I'm sorry but I need to take this....

Now, with all the other stuff the iPhone does, or will do, they'll be getting mad because you're rude enough to look at their pics, or watch their video, or whatever....

And, come to think of it, the accidents this may cause. People walking, or heaven forbid driving, while playing with all those cool features....

If you can think it, it will be done by someone...at least.

I've seen people reading newspapers and magazines while driving and once saw a guy watching a small TV while travelling at 75 plus in the middle lane.

I'd like to see the source where Apple said "The iPhone is a POS."

They will most likely come out with one with more storage later....and probably have different colors too. I will probably end up waiting until next year to save up to get one.

The "disappointments" listed in that first article were VERY minor too; "wiping off smudges on headset because it gets warm," "lack of Instant Messaging software," etc.

I'm only interested to see the actual battery life. Everything else it does I'm certain it does just as well as Steve Jobs demonstrated at the keynote.

The "disappointment" is the fact that it'* nothing new. A cool screen does not mean a good product. Smart phones have been out for years now, and so has Windows CE. If you ask me, Apple is VERY late to the game, and they really haven't brought anything special to the table. Someone, please, tell me what'* so good about this, and don't start with the ergonomics and beauty of it. Yeah, it'* shiny and black, so what? Where are the cool features? It just seems like it'* nothing special to me, that'* all.

Nothing "new?" Cool features? Have you watched any video demonstrations or read anything about it? :?

If anyone has doubts and HASN"T seen this video, at the very least, I'd click on it. http://www.apple.com/iphone/usingiph...ur_medium.html

The iPhone IS new. But more importantly it'* an improvement on what'* already been done. That'* the main reason new products are made, to improve on what'* already been done. One shouldn't dismiss it because it'* not 100% "new."

You also have to take into account where the iPod was many years ago. Because the iPhone is also an iPod, you have to consider the new features this iPod has compared to the previous iPods, as well as any other music player/video player.

The main thing new with the iPhone is the multi-touch display, and the many ways you navigate, zoom in/out, unlock/lock the phone, call numbers, search internet, etc. by touching the screen with one or two fingers. The QWERTY keyboard is a new feature on a phone. Smartphones have a hard keyboard that takes up space whether you need to use it or not.

Other things new among others I may be forgetting are the visual voicemail feature and the accelerometer feature.

Apple brought new technology to a mobile device with quite a few new features, and improved on all the other things Smartphones do (e-mail, voicemail, internet). They also improved the iPod. Though those who don't care about iPods won't care about those improvements.

And they did all this while keeping the device easy to use, clean, attractive, and durable. I think that'* pretty worthy of some praise from any Apple critic.

I only scratched the surface of all the things cool about the iPhone. You'd have to watch that video at the very least to understand it all.

yeah, I've seen the video. Just doesn't seem like it'd improve productivity at all... idk, with me not being a mac guy and all, I guess I just will never see why you have your jollies up in a bunch And with me being a Creative Zen Vision:m user, yeah, I don't see why the iPod has gotten so big, so I guess I don't understand the improvements. To me, it'* like a clothing accessory with a smartphone built in, and I just don't dig that. I'm a functionality guy, not a form guy.

iPhone...schmyphone....

Yeah, its got a TON of new bells and whistles, but its missing a bunch of the things that my little Samsung can do...

The iPhone can't:
Voice record... handy when recording the kids yell, "Daddy pickup the phone, Mommy'* calling" and then set it as your ring tone.
Music Ringer: You can't select a song (regardless of format) to use as your ringer.
Headphones: For a music phone you should be able to use your audiophile headphones without a bulky adapter.

Yeah, lots of cool new visuals but they missed on a bunch of the basics.

Quick Reply: Okay, whos got one?? iPhone Biaaatch...
