Default What Do you consider a ricer????

I hear the term "ricer" used a lot on this site and I was just wonder what the members of this site determine to be a ricer. Personally my definition of a ricer is an import car that has many things on it but they don't perform a function (ie. Big wing on a front wheel drive car) and although this is funny I find the guys with domestics who add wings and other items in an attempt to make it like and Acura, Honda etc. even funnier than the authentic ricers

If anyone of the moderators is tired of this topic, feel free to lock it. But heres my religious outlook on the subject....

You got those kids/adults who take a car they research a lot about, learn its tricks and advantages, plus he or she understands the car'* weaknesses and pushes to strengthen those weaknesses. Example: I know someone who runs low 15'* with an early 90'* Sentra SE-R that is pushing 134hp at the dyno with a built motor. Impressive, this driver knows the car in and out.

THEN, you got those "kids" who want to fit in with a group of people or social standard they think exists, but has only been made in the movies (2F2F). These are the individuals who are simply put- posers. They understand nothing of cars, constantly ask others what would make their car fast, and most of them don't even know how to change their oil. Believe it or not, but if you get deep in the Chicagoland area there are some youngsters who don't even know what a carburetor is.

I suppose Rice could be any Asian car, but the true "Ricer" is the wannabe superfly white boy fast car driver who wishes he was getting the chicks for his tight style.

I will lock this thread only if it gets ugly or out of hand

My opinion on rice or ricers, is one who is crying for attention. Anything to make you look at him/her, sadly, instead of doing something creative, they waste tens of thousands of dollars on what I consider mostly garbage. I will admit, most modifications are decent. But overkill is what bugs me.

Like I said yesterday to Murdock up in Wasaga Beach (rice hell) Its one thing to modify a "something" car to make it a little bit better, its another thing to modify a nothing car and try to pass it off as something" :?

A ricer is any car with 2 of these 3 things. A body kit, A fart can, A Carbon Fiber Wing.
