Default OBD I software/hardware for pocket PC. Such a thing?

I've been searching for pocket PC software and hardware to act as a realtime scan tool but have come up empty. I found a couple of OBD II programs but not what I want. Is anybody familiar with something that might work?

In the original "cheap and easy scantool" thread, the guy who thought of it had some notebook problems and had a cable for it, and he couldn't get it to jive.. re-read the thread, its there somewhere I think.

No mention of pocket PC, palm or PDA in any of the 4 pages.
