Default can a dealership do this?

I bought a bonneville about 6 months ago and have not recieved a tag yet. I have gone to the dealership many times with no real results. It took this place 4 months just to get me the registration card. So my question is, is this legal for a dealership to take this long or are they in breach of contract.
I really want to return the car get my downpayment and what i have payed into the car back and take my buisness elsewhere.

by the way i live in atlanta, ga if that helps.

is it a buyherepayhere?

I have heard of them holding title until you make the last payment. If it were Oklahoma, I would not have left the dealership without a title and bill of sale. They simply put a lien on the title. 0However things are probably different in GA....

I've never heard of such a thing. When I have bought cars from dealerships I have always had a license plate and registration the day I drove it off the lot. The registration was a temporary one until the DMV sent me the permanent one, along with the title, a few weeks later.

I know that if you finance the car a dealership should have everything for the car in a month and i dont know if there is anything legaly that i can do to make them take the car back.

My friend bought a car once and after 4 months of no plates coming, he went to the dealership and found out they never did the paper work. In the mean time he had 4 unpaid parking tickets sent to the dealership that he did not have to pay for.

I really just want the car gone because it has over 150,000 miles on it and the torque converter is sliping, plus i just really just dont want to deal with these people any more.
So if i do speak to the manager i will have a lawyer there saying what laws they have broken the potential risk they caused me and what there options are if they do not want this to go before a judge.
