Default V for Vendetta...... IMAX

I'm really turning into an IMAX bigot. If it isn't in IMAX, there is about a 70% chance I'll wait for it on vid. Don't know if i'm a snob, or IMAX is just that good.

I went to an IMAX preview of "V for Vendetta" this weekend. I think it is the kind of movie that you take away from it, that which you bring to it. The reason I bring it up is because we were "interviewed" after the viewing. For some folks it was a Saturday night, bag o' popcorn action flick. Not so for most others. It is not an easy movie, and the central character isn't wearing the easy bad guy or good guy hat.

Some people were enthralled and charged up, some were just plain pissed at it.

I'm not saying to see it or not see it. I'm just saying that I never heard people react to a movie like that.

That'* why the movie interrests me, thought it looked pretty good. Never watched a regular movie on IMAX though, just the 3 D IMAX movies. Sound system for the one in Boston was 100,000 watts, It was awesome. Are they all like that?

My first IMAX was the huge wave surfing on the north shore of Oahu. Almost wet myself. Saw Matrix 2&3 on IMAX. Thought the movies ate dirt compared to The Matrix. But came out of them almost exhausted because you are right in the middle of the action, upclose to the characters, and buffeted around by the powerful sound system.

As noted above, make sure the movie was "shot" in IMAX, not "stretched" from normal screen format.

Note: I'll confess... I think V for Vendetta could cause a minor cultural chit storm.
