Pittsburg was nice. I missed almost all the crappy weather they had.

Wondered how long it would take. All I have to say is Ryan had one hell of a nice nice car, and Tim, I am soooo jealous. This was the first SSEi I ever rode in. Oh yeah, AL7'* FTMFW!!!
I have always wanted an 96-99 Black SSEi even wihout riding in one, now I HAVE to ahve one.

For those interested in the Bonneville I bought or needing a refresher.
Its a '98 SSEi with 93,750 miles

I got home at work at midnight and up at 4am to catch the 6am Jetblue to JFK in NYC.
About an hour layover there and off on another Jetblue to Pittsburgh which arrived there at about 9:45am.
Ryan was a little late due to traffic/construction but I wasn't lacking company thanks to the freindly people also waiting to be picked up.
All the looking over, testdriving, even a run to the mall to get my grandson a Steelers shirt, paperwork, travelplates, ect was done. I wish I could have spent more time with Ryan and his family, they are they embodiment of hospitality. After denying a few invitations for a meal, they even supplied me with some bottled water for the road.
Ran into a tremendous downpour about half an hour up 79 heading to Erie. Everyone slowed down to 30-ish. I could see pretty good but these tires weren't gripping so well and caution is the word of the next million years. I made it Erie at about 3:30 to meetup with Tallbump at his work and spent a few hours with him. See his thread here.
Next head up 79 towards Buffalo so I can grab the Thruway and head home.... About 5 miles from Erie i hit a monstrous traffic jam that started about 5 miles up 90 and lasted to almost the state line. The speed limit was 25mph and I would have done just about anything to actually GO THAT FAST. It was 10-15 the whole way and took well over an hour to leave PA. Once I hit the NYS Thruway it was smooth sailing. I had to watch myself thou, that car rides smooth as silk even at 95. A good tune came on the radio and next thing I know, I look down and I'm doing 95. WOW. Luckily there wasn't much traffic and no cops.
I got home at 9:45pm so that made it an almost 18hr trip; start to finish. I took the wife and grandson around the block a few times then went right to bed. LOL
Even with all that slow going in PA, it was 250 miles exactly to from when we filled up in Erie, (Tallbump let me use his 20cents off discount - Thank you for that Brian!!) and I used 8.9 gallons total from Erie to Syracuse. Doing the division I got 28mpg.
I took my wife and grandson around the block a few times, boosted a little to impress the boy and now he want to name the car after ... it'* all black and has a red glowing dash and radio faceplate.... Darth Vader!
We presented it to my mother today, I was to take her to a Dr'* appt. yes we were bad!
It went like this (all preplanned) Keep in mind she had no idea why I went to PA.
Me: OMG! My Car is gone
Grandson: I think someone stole it Popa!!
Mom: No one stole it, isn't that it over there.
Me; No thats not it, Iparked over there. Its gone! What are we going to do?
Grandson: We could steal that Black car over there! Its HAWT!!!
Mom: Did you parkout front?
Me: No Iparked right over here. C'mon lets go steal that black car!
{We walk towards it and I remote start it}
Mom: It started!!! You did that! You bought a new car!!!!

98 is a great year. You'll love it.
I have roughly 100,000 more miles than you do and everything is original on the car except the LIM gaskets, alternator and trans.
