Help with Ford motor
So my friend bought a 90 Ford Taurus.
He was driving it home and the motor started smoking pretty bad.
It was coming out the passenger side. He checked and it had no oil. he put some in and it smoked less. Any ideas. Could it just have been smoking due to no oil. I assume so.
It'* a 3.0 engine.
Thanks

Could be a bad valve cover gasket..
But I am at a loss as to where exactly the smoke was coming from... Those 3.0 Vulcan V6 engines are good engines.... But they will not tolerate running hot for any length of time... If this has ever happened to this car then its possible for it to have a cracked head or heads..
I'd check those valve cover gaskets first...

I haven't seen it myself yet. He just told me about it tonight. I'll have to check it out myself and get a better idea. Probably right about a cracked head though.

Some days the best tool for the job is a big tarp to cover the carcass. (This gives me an idea of how best to dispose of a Northturd problem .)

That'* what he is afraid of. He JUST bought the car. Well, really his mom did because she didn't have a car and was looking for a cheapo for cash.

Yeah, we figure the motor is probably shot. It did rive and smoke LESS after he put oil in.
He'* planning on driving it around town for a day to see what it does.
He'* a little nuckin futz though
