Default Woot!!!! Maybe.....

So now the finance company wants to "work with me". They have mentioned a couple options, but havent said if they can actually do it.

1st one: Add 2 years to my loan and drop my payments from $375 to $230 a month.

2nd one: Talk to the dealer I bought the car from and do a buy back and put me in a cheaper car.

Honestly, I don't want a cheaper car, I want MY car!! And thats what I told him. He said he will call me back. So maybe, possibly I can keep my car

Wow, those are both high payments in my book..
My opinion would be get into a less expensive vehicle. get into the upper 100'* per month payment.

Hopefully you'll be able to keep your car. And even with an extended loan, the option to pay it off early should still be there if you come upon some extra money down the road.

Yeah payments suck especially when they are high but yours don't seem so bad as I have seen worse with crappier cars. Mine are both paid for but now I have other bills that have taken their place like my mortgage.Good luck hope you reach a fair deal.

Payments on my 2000 were only $150/month... I'd get into a cheaper car honestly...

Assuming that they approached you about it, keep going. Tell them that'* a nice initial offer, but there'* more work to be done.

In any event, the fact that they want to work with you shows that there'* more money to be made than simply doing a repo on the car. Maybe counter offer with $190-$200 a month? Not sure how much time you have left on the loan, but, if the extra 2 years wouldn't extend you pass, say, 5 years left, and a new car would mean a 5 year loan... well, you get the idea

Hey see where it goes. I wouldn't try to push to hard, but $200 seems withing reach of that number. Make sure to ask if there are early payment penalties. If not, then go for the lower payment and pay more when you can.
