Default New tools and a broken valve spring

My tool box was getting way to full, so I bought a new add on senction.

P1070152.jpg

Been eying this up for some time now.
P1070153.jpg

The addition went on real easy.
P1070154.jpg

Added a lot more storage. No more piling things in the drawers.
P1070155.jpg

Got it all tucked back in where it belongs.

While getting that all set up, a friend calls me up. Dude, bumper to bumper is going out of business, everything is 5% over cost.

I picked up a few things
P1070157.jpg

Chris dropped his car off yesterday. He has a broken valve spring, This is his second one. Pushing the car in the snow was really hard.
P1070159.jpg

P1070160.jpg

There'* the broken spring. Go figure, its the rear spring.
P1070161.jpg

One broken spring.
P1070162.jpg

He smashed his valve seal as well.

All done, what a pain working on the rear head of a W body. He'* all done and on his way.

Stock lifters and a XPhot cam. He'* going to pick up some LS6 springs. So I'll be changing them. Told him to pick up a set of valve seals.

That drill sure would have been nice when I was up : ). Like the toolbox addition! Glad to see everything went well and he was able to drive it home. Not a good day for pushing.

Made another trip to bumper to bumper, todays the last day. Picked up that last of the autolite 103, that'* all 9 that they had. Picked up a better oil filter wrench, I hate the one I had, it took 3 hands to use it. This one has a spring. And a real nice valve spring compressor. My other one is nice, but can be a bit of a pain.

I like that valve spring compressor. I've been looking for a similiar one up around my neck of the woods and have not found one yet. I may have go on-line and hunt one down.
