New ride.

New ride.
Due to some un-forseen circumstances this is now my new ride. :( The ford lovers are going to love it, but I am going to hate it. It'* a 1992 Mercury Sable LS with the 140 HP 3.8 Ford V6. It'* painfully slow but I have nothing else to drive and it'* all I can afford at the moment. It has a whole bag full of problems like if you go over 55 MPH and coast the check engine light turns on, the entire dash rattles/vibrates, the car almost stalls while idling in traffic, it wreaks of coolant, it'* ungodly SLOW, rides like a marshmellow and handles even worse.... it only has 83k miles on it too! I guess it'* going to have to do... :( I picked it up yesterday morning. I can definatley see why the Bonnevilles of the same year sold so many more cars than the Sable. The Bonneville is BY FAR superior to the Sable in every way in 1992. It'* rediculous!

Finally, A video of 35-65 under WOT. Under normal driving this car is unbearably slow compared to what I'm used to. The torque is mediocre as long as you REALLY get on the gas pedal. Otherwise it takes a LOT of pedal movement to get it underway. Nothing like the 3800 V6 by far.

Sorry to hear about your unforunate situation.
It actually doesn't look that bad. I like the rims.

Is this just a winter rat? EDIT: I guess not :(
I don't like that engine either. I drove my mom'* T-bird with it. You're absolutely right on having to mash the gas. I don't like the acceleration and drive at all.

Could I ask why you couldn't find a older Bonneville to drive? If it'* not comfortable for you to answer, then don't.

Wow, That'* really bad. You should have just found a cavalier or something. And yes, ford'* 3.8 is worthless, no power, no torque, and and you have to floor it to even get decent power.
