I, personally, ain't too worried about what Rank I am. People know me by now, and what my posts are worth.

Why are we worrying about post rank? Why care? Shouldn't we be concerned for starving children or something?

Everyone knows Alan. We know he posts helpful comments to people whenever he can. His rank in his avatar doesn't change that fact. We don't give him less credibilty because he doesn't have 'CBN' in his avatar.

Sorry Alan, I know you liked the status. But you haven't lost anything with this new ranking, besides 3 words from your avatar. The option of a "Vendor" ranking is being discussed.

OK! This is AWESOME! I've never had so much response from a single post in so short a time! For the record, this was a STAFF decision.

Al, you have a choice. We can ALL be CBN'* (and we were heading that way fast), or we can ALL be rankless. Get a dictionary out and read up on GROWTH. CBN was losing it'* status anyway.

This is natural evolution. We had another rank to add in honor of our new GXP. It seemed fitting to make it 5.5 stars and bump CBN up to 6. So you GAINED A HALF STAR. The name changed. BFD.

You remember as well as I do where this rank came from. It was a JOKE. It had no post count associated with it. Jeff created that rank for me a long time ago. It wasn't until Hector and I made our first rank shuffle that we actually made it official.

Any post whoring for the sole purpose of increasing rank and 'chasing the dream' will be dealt with just as it always does. If it'* out of line or flagrant, the Moderators delete it.

Jim and Pete made some VERY good comments in this thread. I suggest you read them again. We ADDED TO and ADJUSTED the RANK structure, for crissakes. Because we growing so damn fast! Do you know how many times I've done this? Most people don't even NOTICE most of the time!

So here it is: We delete the new rank, and drop all the counts back to where they were. In 6 months we'll have as many CBN'* as any other rank, and in time, everyone will be one. Helluva ranking structure.

Or we delete the rank structure altogether.

Or we leave it like it is now. Ready for growth.

Like I said earlier, it was cool to say I was certifiable, but I'd rather people know me for content (or lack thereof) than a specific rank. I know I trust just about anything the Rat has to say, and I definitely appreciate the help he'* given me personally, no matter what the rank says...

Leave it. I don't care about post counts personally, i listen to anyone. Just cause someone hasn't been at this specific place, doesn't mean they aren't an H body god per se.

I'm not even here that much really. just 5-10 minutes when i get bored during the day. I wouldn't consider anyone whoring around here. Some of us just don't have a staff positino that requires it.

Keep it, nothings going to make everyone happy, and frankly i'm sick of seeing people act like it'* their board sometime. I know the staff is very open to suggestions, but please do not demand things like this on the boards. I've voiced my opinion, based on experiences, my Management Classes (it'* my major afterall) and just common sense. These guys know what their doing.

When i first joined, I didn't know CHIT about bonnevilles, Hell I didn't have one yet, ( look at my first posts, i'm an idiot). What'* changed? Well i'm still an idiot, but i know enough to where i can answer questions or help someone get on the right track, for 90% of the problems here. For the other 10% i know exactly where to turn, or I hit my books. That'* the most important thing to me. Having the proper knowledge to do things right, is more important then any number or count. I think normal ranks up until the umpteenth level is good.
