Default Got my new OBD2 toy

I ordered this a while back.
DSC02893.jpg

It didn't work. I was able to connect one time, but there was so much lag it was a waste of time, so I sent it back.

So I ordered this. Cost a lot more, $99. But it worked right out of the box. Plugged it in, set it up on the phone, and started the app. Took a bit for the connection to start working. There was a very small lag, but not real bad.

Real happy with this set up.

I can read any DTC code. Then click info on it and it will connect to the internet and pull up all kinds of information. The app I'm using is called Torque. If you have a droid, it'* well worth a look.

The big question was, does KR report? Being that you are in the Bonnie... I know you can answer that one.

Playing around with it some more. Setting up a few new windows and perimeters.

Here I have a few things like TPS, coolant temp, RPM, voltage, intake temps, and vacuum.

Here I set up GPS elevation, GPS speed, and O2 sensor.

I have knock retard set up, but there is simply no way I'm going to be able to scan for KR any time soon.

so... if KR is reported, then whoever wrote the program knows how to play with the GM mode 22 commands.... i wonder how they got that info, it'* supposed to be on a relative lockdown compared to the SAE defined PIDs...

People on another forum have been using this and yet to date no one has been able to say that KR is working. At first it wasn't there, then it was added but no one could get it working and now the latest one or two guys are supposedly going to test it.

Irks me a bit that no one will test it.

oh, and the first OBD2 interface? gotta love the chinese made knockoffs that supposedly use ELM327 hardware but in reality they attempted to reverse engineer the PIC that had the ELM firmware and it almost always comes out buggy.

Funny how some people they work fine, others not. That one just didn't want to connect right. My new one is way way better.

So, I did a little more playing around with torque today.

Boost works great.
DSC02910.jpg

I posted on the torque forum about the KR, he said there are a lot of different cars that do things differently. He'* sure it'* set up right. He said if there'* data coming in the display will look correct, like this.
DSC02911.jpg

You can see the timing is moving as I give it gas, and KR holds at zero. No surprise there as I have no KR. I tried to fake it by tapping on the engine block, but no luck. HPtuners VCM scanner showed nothing as well. I simply have no way to make KR, it'* way to cold and the roads are covered with ice.

If there was no data there would be a dash in the display like on this page.
DSC02907.jpg

I can't say with certainty, but it sure looks like it'* collecting data from the sensor.
