Reportedly the all new models in a few years are gonna be RWD for the two larger cars.

The 3.5 is the chinese V6, the bargain v6 in the GM lineup, while the 3.6vvt is the premium engine. The 3.9 is a V6 engine, i forget what kind of upper end it has.

Cadillac is putting a SC on their northstar for the STS (or so i've heard) Might be nice to have that engine, however a swap is out of the question unless you bring the trans along with it. Our poor tranny'* already take a huge beating...

Yup the STS-V will have a SC 4.6 Northstar V8. it'* got nice numbers... They've been in some magazines.

4t-65 e strengthened for the V8

I posted about the 3.9 in another thread, apparently it'* a 60º based on the 3.5L, and I'm sure you guys know the 3.5L'* lineage

My opinion:

the new impala rear end is REALLY ugly.

The front ends on both are pretty cool, but not stunning.

The MC is nice. Don't like either back end to much. The Impala interior still
seems just plan, just like it is now PLAN. But the V8 at 303mph, the impala will
be the new big man on campus since the B-ville is over after 2005.
