Hey everyone. how'* it going?

It'* time the wife and I got a new tv, so I've decided that we're getting an HD tv. Problem is, I can't make up my mind. I've narrowed it down to 2, but wanted to get yall'* advice, since I have no experience with either technology.

First is the Mitsubishi WD-52531, it'* a 52" LCD, the other is a Samsung HLS-5286, which is a 50" DLP.

I like them both a lot. The LCD one is $200 less and comes with a free stand.

From my understanding, LCD has greatly improved and will be the the best purchase. Haven't heard anything bad about DLP, but as I said I hear great things about LCD.
Was just reading an article in PC magazine about this.

we just bough a 50 inch plasma...its just as good as the LCDs to my eyes...infact I think it has more vivid blacks and colors...it also has a 3 year warrenty where they will come to your house to fix it...good deal for $1500

DLP is the technology that drives the display. Co-invented by TI and HP. It has quicker refresh response than competing technologies.

Viewing angle should be a spec that you pay particular attention to.

Yeah But DLP is on the way out....

and myself I would stay away from samsung I bought the new plasma this year 2 minths to the day i bought it and with less then 100 hours on it it flucked up.. Talk about being a pain in the arse to get warranty work i was asked to take a picture and email it too the service tech. 3 weeks and a phone call to the president of consumer affairs they bought it back... Needless to say i didnt purchase another samsung product..

I work in the emerging display technology field. DLP is not on the way out.
