Here is what I am looking for.

I need some kind of software that I can use to graph voltage over time. Like a voltage drop of 4 volts or so over 10 sec or 20 sec. Or an increase of voltage over 20sec kind of thing.


Also an idea how to interface that into a computer. It may be using the voltage from the map sensor to accomplish this. Might even find a way to interface a multimeter to a pc.


If anyone has any idea what might work then let me know.

National Instruments has the best industry solution. But probably out of your price range unless you find it on Ebay. Hardware and software.

Basically what we are doing is making a dyno for the Kart racing engines. They will only have a max output somewhere 12hp. We wanted to graph the voltage increase over time so that it would be easier for us but it will just take a couple people to gather the data as we do this. Looks like we are gonna use a map sensor for the voltage increase, and some snowmachine parts for the actual force on the engine.

Seems that we have all the parts and it will get built this weekend.


We may just do it the cheap way and use an oscilloscope and use my web came to give us a timeline and voltage gain. Along with a stop watch to measure the time. It is really my friend ( the mechanic that works on the Bonneville) that is building it with our help. He asked me if I could find the software and some kind of interface so we could graph it on the computer.

I know there are systems out there but we are all trying ti be cheap bastards, LOL. Any money invested will go into our karts for speed. I alone need 2 sets ( of 4 ) tires for next year, one full set for practice and one full set for racing, at a cost of 250$ per set of 4. Also need spare rims, a bit of new body work ( just for looks), even looking at the option of filing our tires with nitrogen so that the tire pressure stays the same no matter how hot they get .

So it'* a dyno on a budget, lol.
