River Roar
I went to the Bay City River Roar yesterday. Its a professional boat race. All i have to say is DAMN, those boats are amazing! They go extremely fast and take corners at top speed.
The "big" boats like the bud light one (see vid) go 130+ and take the corners at 100+
We got to see one wreck - The boats line up in like 12 at the starting "gates" and then go full throttle towards the first corner, which is big enough for 3 pushing it. Two of them got together, and all i saw was two boats standing up vertically in the air then falling back onto their tops , my mom happened to be video taping that race, but for some reason right before the wreck she moved the camera, so all we got was the sky, not the wreck
My brother is roommates with Dale B'* daughter. ("president" of Dobson, sponsors of River Roar) So we got the VIP treatment, got to sit right at the finish line, with a perfect view of the tightest corner. And he took my brother and I into the pits, and we got to meet the owner of the bud light boat.
Enough of my blabbering heres the pics and vid.

That is awesome and thats why Bay City is my hometown. The river roar is pretty cool to watch boats racing that fast along the river. I missed it this year but you should also hit up the fireworks in bay city and the Pig Gig.

yeah its a great time, everybody and there brother come out. and of course you get all kinds of people on both sides of the river. but the 4th of july and the days leading up to the grand finale is where you need to be. Best fireworks ever.. we always lines of campers from people out of state trying to catch them.
I lived in walking distance from the river... so i had a lot of good times.
