Default Mechanics essay help

Okay for one credit I am writing an essay on automotive safety systems. Ive discoverd that seat belts were first used in 1950 on a Nash Rambler Kelvinator.
Thats all good, but now I need to know when ABS was first implied in automotives, what year, what car manufacter and model if at all possible. Also I need to know the name of this system. Ive dug through the net, googled all over the place with no luck!
Thanks in advance!

1974? Id be kinda surprised..Ive got to June 4th to finish this essay, so ill hang around and wait. Its just that '74 sounds fairly early even as advanced as the Japanese car scene was and is!

ANTILOCK BRAKING SYSTEMS

Antilock braking systems (ABS) were available in the late 1980s and subsequently became standard equipment on a growing number of passenger cars. ABS installations consist of wheel-mounted sensors that input wheel rotation speed into a microprocessor.

For the 25th anniversary of the antilock braking system you can send the 1978 *-Class Mercedes and the BMW 7 to the starting line again. They were the first cars that came to market with an ABS 2. I just googled (as opposed to googoled) "Antilock Brake" history... Those were the first two that seemed useful.
