Default My Saturday. Ugh!

Bad day today. Started out good though becuase I finished work at noon. I figured that I would hop on over to the used tool depot to find a new jack and some heavy stands. Well I didn't make it. I have a 94 GMC and it just died, dead in the middle of heavy traffic. So here I am on a Friday afternoon on one of the busiest streets in Halifax with my 4-ways on and the hood open in the fast lane to boot, waiting for a towtruck. Wow, it is amazing how stupid and ignorant some people are. I have never been honked at or swore at so much in my entire life. People would pull up right in behind me and sit there wondering why I wasn't moving. Hmm 4 ways on and the hood up. Doesn't take a rocket scientist (european anyway) to figure out that I am broken down. Anyway after an hour the tow truck shows up. He wanted 60 bucks to take me back over the bridge to the military auto club. I asked him how much to get me all the way home (which was about a half hour) he quoted 95. I have a garage at home so I figured I would take it back there. Anyway, did the trouble shooting and found that the fuel pump was not coming on but I had spark. I jumped power directly to the pump power supply from the pcm and I got it running. As it turns out the the fusible link to the PCM is blown so that is going to cost me about 5 or 6 bucks. Well, could have been worse (pump or even PCM). So that is the easy job tomorrow. I have to also change the master cylinder on my Bonneville as well as the swaybar links (I have had new ones sitting in the trunk for 2 months now). After that I have to change the fuel tank and the sway bar bushings on my 94 Cavalier because I am selling that car and it needs them for the safety. Man, I am going to be super busy tomorrow. Oh well I am rewarding myself with a superbowl party with the boys at my place. Hoowaa!!! Just letting off some steam here, need a few words of encouragement in the face of insurmountable odds.

Later.

Damn...to bad to hear about the misfortunes tonight, sux when a car just dies like that. I think you need CAA. Costs about 80 bones a year but damn, one trip out under any circumstance and it pays for itself.

Ah well, enjoy the game on Sunday...lots of us will

Go Pats?

I hate when that happens. It just seems like you can't win for losing sometimes. Things will get better. I am glad the part isn't too expensive. It should be a good game Sunday so enjoy!!

Go Pats!...Don't let the nickname fool ya!..I'm a New Englander

I feel your pain...a similar thing happened to me once....(I know...anyone that has looked closely at my posts will notice that almost every minor disaster happened to me once too)...put my clutch through the floor...at a busy intersection...heavy traffic...two days before Christmas....in front of the local mall....people honking, etc...

Poor you!...hope your weekend improves from here...at least you have an idea of what'* wrong and how to fix it..

95 Bucks seems resonable for a journey a half hour away. Glad to hear you resolved the problem on your own

it is amazing how stupid and ignorant some people are
Sounds like you met a few "my people" from New Jersey!
