Is my new toy illegal? Help!
I just got this gun from my buddy, and someone told me it might be illegal. One guy said pistol grip shotguns in general are illegal, another said as long as the barrel is over 17 inches or so (barrel hasnt been sawed off) its legal
its a 20 gauge Pistol Grip Pump, I shot a box of shells out of it for the first time yesterday and its a absolute Blast (Hahaha get it?) and it quite accurate even with the choke set to slug and shooting birdshot

What Mouse said. Under the National Firearms Act (NFA) it is illegal for a private citizen to possess a sawed-off modern smokeless powder shotgun, i.e. with a barrel length less than 18 inches and an overall length less than 26 inches They have NO Mercy on this. The rest is state to state and varies greatly. Many shotguns are made less than 18 inches for military and police purposes but you have to have Tax Stamped Permit to legally own one. Posting up something that can take 5-15 years away from your life is Not a good Idea...

I told you to go down the pawn shop and buy for a reason. They only sell firearms that are legal by all applicable laws.
Also, shotguns are cheap new anyway unless you get the fancy kind like i have.

I have a friend with a pistol gripped semi auto 18.5 barrel along with a 25 round "barrel magazine clip". It'* is a kick in the azz to let loose on things with. He worked in a plastics recycling place where we went in on a Saturday and blew 5 gallon jugs stacked in pyramids apart.

Next shotgun, for tacti-cool turkey hunting.

I use a handed down Pump 870 from the early fifties. I never saw any reason to upgrade. It kills turkey as well now as it did for my grandfather. LOL. I did finally trade my old .270 in for an mostly aluminum BLR .243 for deer and love it! At just under 8 Lbs. it never wears you down in the forest.
