Yep!

The bra wasn't on yet in the pic. But I had a true dual exhaust with twin cats, Hypertech Stage II chip and 165 degree stat, 140MPH speedometer, Holley 650 with an aluminum intake.

If I kept it longer I would have probably junked the 305 for a 4-bolt main 350 to do some real engine work. Chevy had a lot of room to go with that car and they never did.

I love monte'*. my uncle had one that i wanted to buy from him. he dropped a 4 bolt 350 in it and put in a true dual exhaust. you could hear that thing from a mile away. he added nitris later on and that thing flew..... or i should say blew. my cusin was driving down the street with it and the engine caught fire and blew up. she got out safetly before it blew. thank god. that was an awesome car. and i prolly woulda ended up with it.

Pontiac version was a Grand Prix 2+2. I believe it was made in 1986 and had the same rear "aero" window. They were all silver with red highlights and an aerodynamic front nose. Not very powerful, but a true collector'* car. They were listed as a no options car, but one sourse on the internet gave proof of one that had a power seat as an option. As far as I know, the Monte was a much more potent car than the 2+2 (190hp in the Monte Carlo compared to 165 hp in the pontiac), even though they both had a 305 V8. Even though I like the looks of both the 2+2 and the MCSS (especially the '86-'87), I like the Pontiac a bit better. I would have to do an engine swap in the 2+2 though.

Yeah that is the car. Looks just like the pictures in my old Muscle Car History book.

I have only ever seen one of them in real life. The car was down at one of the rather unsavory Used Car Dealerships on Jeff Davis Highway in Richmond.

I think they wanted 4000 or so for it.

Sorry, I just took the info off the internet. Just goes to show that not everything on the net is fact. I stand corrected. But the point was that in 1986, both the 2+2 and the Monte Carlo SS had the 305 but the Monte was more powerful. It'* a shame really. The 2+2 was a one-year production with only 1,118 made. It could have had an awesome engine to go with the looks--but PMD or GM didn't go far enough with either of them (the MCSS or the 2+2. They should have run a SBC 350 and a Pontiac 400 in them respectively.

Just my opinion.
