changing the settings and what not, also reviewing what you took and on mine i can watch videos, i dunno if yours take video or not
i barely know how to use half of the features in it, but its an interesting piece, id love to learn how to use it a lil more
also to snap pictures using the screen is kinda useless when you do manual zoom and focus

I'd love to take pictures of my Bonneville with that camera :P
Of the bonneville. or at least until you find a good shot and take one
Good luck using it

No, you cannot use the display to take pictures. This is not a Point & Shoot style camera. You use the eye piece to take pictures, and like Sam said you use the display to review shots and make sure your settings are right.

Keep the AF(auto focus) on, on the lens. Always look through the lens not the display. Always push the shoot button halfway down and look at what reference points lite up , That is where the real focus is. Moving the cam just a bit up or down, right to left, will change these. And wait for the "beep" to fully press and shoot. These are a real plus. When you get practiced, outdoor scenes will look awesome. Plus you can focus in on a subject and blur the background or vice versa. The camera is so talented you really have to read the manual/watch the DVD. Did you get this as a "bundle" It should have Photostitch with the software. It makes constructing panorama like this one I did a breeze.
Thats was 5 pictures I took turning a little for each one with an XSi. I shrank it for the Forum sake but it is 2847x646 pixels in it'* original size.
Until you read it all, just use AutoFocus (AF button on lens), and Full Auto for indoors, and flash off outdoors and you'll get good results.

I agree with Venom. Using the Auto features as suggested will give you good shots until you learn the camera better. I have had my Nikond D60 for almost 2 years now, and still have yet to learn all the manual settings.
That'* a cool panoramic shot John. I'd like to see the full res shot if you could!
