Actually im a fan of Linux and its basic cmd line interface. I just dont like WIN8. On a tablet its ok but on a mouse and keyboard PC, not so much.

Nice score for 180.00 Mike, HP'* are not too bad.
I am not really a laptop guy, I mainly build custom high end gaming machines, but I have occasionally checked laptop reviews for friends, and if you are looking for a workstation then Apple may be pricey, but they are some of the most reliable/stable laptops.
If you are a Windows guy I usually recommend ASUS, over the last few years they have put out some decent machines for the money, and they have gotten good reviews on a few sites.

LOL at the Apple II, looked like a II E, I remember playing Choplifter on one of those way back when..
