LOL,.... OK, I made that part up. I read some time back that they are about to release a new generation of MRE'* in vacuumed foil packs that are sent through a machine that exposes food to a small pellet of plutonium radiation. It sterilizes so completely they are going to be able to package thing like steak, roast beef, and grilled chicken. Sounds cool.

lol thanks, but I trust my recruiter, I'm not that stupid. I know 95% of national guard recruiters lie, but my Reserves recruiter is different. I can't explain it to you, but I know he'* not an idiot. Plus I have a roommate who knows everything there is to know about what to know! My recruiter (SFC) hasn't lied to me yet, and the only reason I know it'* true is because he hasn't told me: You won't be deployed, you'll get what MOS you want, or any of the other stupid lies they try to sell.
I appreciate your concern on this, but I've talked to National Guard Recruiters before and you can identify their lies pretty easy. Especially if you've done your research like a good boy.

Some of the MREs were nasty. I always hated the ham and turkey loaf.... It looked like the slime form the little green ghost in Ghostbusters... Still, some weren't too bad. I was in in the 80'* and the pics you showed look like the fare has improved a bit.
I remember in one of the old Reforger exercises in Germany, we had some of the nationals attached to us and they called us all manner of evil in an article in their papers because of how those early MREs tasted.
