My car.... Almost done...

You only have one problem; Ford AOD trannies universally suck.
Time for the stick conversion...
I've seen a few Blunderbirds out there with the manual from a Mustang swapped in, and it seems that the hardest part is altering the floor console to fit the shifter boot, and installing the extra pedal under the dash.

Ok to answer all of these replies.
It'* a 4R70W transmission.
There is no Ford emblem on the front of my car.
I can't step on the trans wires when the trans wires are under the chassis
End note. Alan is going to build me a tranny from a 98+ case with extra clutches and heavy duty ****. A 2004 Marauder TC. Warranty under all conditions including racing. $2k.
Edit
And as for the stick conversion. Would be a blast, but would cost more to achieve the same strength.

Bill, I stand by this reasoning. That transmission is not bound to that car. It has a zipper on it. I just put the car on stands. Should have the current trans out in the next 4 hours. Putting the new one back in will be faster. Considering this is only the second time I've ever taken a trans out of this car. (first time was to install a higher stall TC)

And now it looks like I may be pulling the engine after all. I didn't want to unless i was putting in the Lightning.... which may or may not happen now. Busted a stud on the exhaust manifold taking the exhaust off! CARP!
