Looking for a new TV/Internet/Phone provider
Currently fed up with my local cable company as they've gone up and up and up without adding much to their offerings. At $215 a month for the expanded setup with 4 movie groups. Once I'm nearly decided on what I'm going to do, I'll give them one last chance to consider losing the customer.
I've done some looking online and all I'm coming up with available in my area are:
Dish and *** Communications (current company). Dish prices look great. I'm also considering pulling my current package nearly down to zero and picking up Netflix.
Thoughts and suggestions?

I love netflix for movies. They have almost everything on DVD and while the online instant selection is somewhat limited I think it has been getting better. Expect to get a movie every 4 days. Day 1 you get and watch your movie, day two it mails out to them, day three they mail the next out to you, day 4 you receive the new movie. I usually just keep my list full and as soon as the movies come in I watch them. I definitely do not make a backup copy and watch them later because I'm sure while would be quite easy to do it would be legally and morally wrong like driving around with a blocked off EGR/PCV...
I currently have Comcast for cable and while they are great for internet, the tv service is encrypted now though and requires you put a decrypter on every TV. That doesn't work for me since I use my computer as a DVR so if I want the DVR to work correctly I would have to set up a blaster to change the channel from the decryption box when it wanted to record a show and I'm sure that would have all kinds of problems.

Only other option I can think of is DirecTV, but that may have been excluded for a reason. I am in favor of dropping premium movie services, and picking up netflix. You also get access to the online catalog, which is quite extensive. That can be viewed with most any current generation gaming console, and with a pc, and an interesting score of other devices as well.
And as was said, that was not even counting what could be viewed on Hulu, and other such sites. My only complaint is that I wish I had more interweb speed (1.5meg) but not enough to justify paying more.

i got Comcast tv and internet. I got their MegaBlast with i think is 18meg but could be wrong. its lightning fast.
Their tv packages r reasonable, can add cable to another room for only $3 per month. and i got the touchscreen 32gig DVR my bill is about $100 even per month. but i got promotions on tv and internet so when those drop off my bill will about double. but instead i will just jump on another promo
Dont have much experience with the other companies. My girls parants have Direct TV and they swear by it.

I have Netflix online, just a PITA waiting for the movies I want to watch come online.
Iv'e seen many people do this Bill, drop the TV portion, keep your broadband and get a basic package from Directv or the other company. Seriously, is it really worth an extra 150 a month for premium tv that one hardly watches anyway? Just my two cents.
