Default Dremel Woes

Ok..my black and decker dremel er uh..was smoking last night..then a few sparks came out.

Knowing you should never let the smoke out. I figure it'* history. Anyone ever see sparks before? I'm thinking brushes might fix it..but I need it tonight and may just pick up a new one. Probably will the dead one to CorvetteCrazy.

I think that silly flex shaft added a bit of pressure. Yet I like it enough that I won't stop using it.

my dad has one thats like 20 years old works perfect still

and i got a new one 4 years ago and did alot of modding on computer cases and havn't killed it.

but now that i have said this mine will die the next time i use it, thats my kind of luck

This B&D one is about 6 or so years old. I work on arcade games etc and beat the heck out of it. Also has some features I like better than a real dremel. Like that push button for locking, this has a nice flip lever.

I haven't pulled it apart to find out what is wrong with it yet. I'm sure the little trooper will be back in service soon. BTW..is it bad to see smoke pouring out of it many times? Cause this puppy gives it'* all.

Also I think being on variable speed and running the flex shaft were contributors.

Plus..it gave me enough to do what was needed. All in the name of Bonnevilles!

I had an older Dremel and smoked it a few years back, so it can be done, lol. Mine is currently a Craftsman. I don't think that any of them are made for real heavy duty use. For that you buy the industrial motor and flex-shaft set up.
