ok i gotta a 1986 jeep XJ 4x4 with a tired 2.8 GM V6 i want to swap a different motor as some of you know a 2.8V6 is a 60 degree V6 what are some 60 degree V6'* that i can swap in? reason being is because i want to use the same torqueflite 904 tranny thats in it see in as i just replaced it 2 months ago.
i would swap the 4.0 I6 but that would require allot of mods seeing as they started puttin the I6 in jeeps in 1987 in which many changes where made to fit it like the front clip is longer and the core support and the firewall was changed also?
any ideas
i want to get a about 15-20mpg

Does it have to be another truck engine?

I would go with a 3100 or 3400. That should give you BIG boost in power. Take a look on the 60degreev6.com forums.
