Default Had a Feel-Good Moment w/the Bonnie

So, I received one of the nicest compliments on my Bonnieville last weekend. Here'* the story:

On my last birthday, I gave blood at a local Pontiac Dealership and as a "thank-you" to the blood donors, anyone who gave blood got a coupon for a free oil change and vehicle inspection.

I decided that the bonenville was due for an oil change last weekend and even though I usually do my own oil changes, I figured I'd let them do this one for me. So, I take it in to Noonan (where the car came from some 14 years ago) and pull it into the service department garage. I felt kinda embarrased because here I am with my 95 bonneville surrounded by new G6'*, G8'*, and other nearly-new pontiacs that are in for oil changes. So, I approach the service desk and the conversation is as follows:

me: hello, I am here for a free oil change -hands coupon-

service tech lady: "oh, ok, which vehicle was yours?"

me: "the bonneville over there"

her: "oh, wow, I haven't seen one of those in here in quite a long time"

-she fills out paperwork for vehicle service and I hand her keys so she can check exact mileage-

her: "wow, your car is in great shape! I used to have one of these as a lease and never have owned a car so comfortable since..."

-checks mileage-

her: "Uh, sir, is this the correct mileage?"

me: "Yes, why?"

her: "Oh, just wanted to make sure... most cars this old have well over 100K on them. The 3800 is a great engine, I hope you aren't planning to sell this car anytime soon because it will last you"

me: "well, its been a good car since I have owned it..."

her: "yeah, most of the older cars we see anymore are ones with the 3800 and they last FOREVER but I haven't seen one this clean and low miles before"

me: "well, thanks, I do what I can to keep it nice"

her: "well, thats good. I'm glad that we can still see cars that we sold over a decade ago looking show-room new"

her: "well, you are all set. the car will be done in an hour and you can pick it up."

An hour later i picked the car up and I was amazed to see that they had detailed the outside of it! I go to service clerk to make sure she didn't mess up order.

me: "so, I am all set?"

her: yes, you are

me: "was the car wash part of the oil change deal?"

her: "no, but the weather cleared up now and I figured you would appreciate it if I threw a car wash on the deal on me. You obviously appreciate your car and its one that is worthy of staying around for quite a few more years"

me: "sweet, thank you"

Lets just say I have a new favorite dealership!

Nice car, and nice story, but you left out the most important part. What did the receptionist look like? I'm in Dearborn and am over that way when I go to the GM Tech Center on Van Dyke.

the great thing is that she was pretty smoking hot too. A little old for me (i'm 19 and she was in her 30'*) but, all the same she wasn't bad on the eyes at all. Brown hair, thin, dressed well, not too much makeup!

It was overall a great experience. And rico, to answer your question, I still have not decided what to sell becuase my parents say that the bonneville is "Too Old" and because it has a small oil leak, they want it out of our driveway. I'm still fighting for it though!

Nice Edge. On my way to meet up with Kevin (Purplehazier) at "Fall Carlilse Custom Car Show/Auction" I got held up on a down to one lane traffic bottleneck on a long bridge on I-81. One of the crew noticed the car and the paint job, started flagging workers over to look at it. Was there for quite some time and had a "personal car show" on the bridge. One guy got dangerously close to getting flattend by a large roller whose driver couldnt see close in front of his equipment.
