Default whats the proper way to launch a manual?

i was just curious, ive heard bits and pieces, but id like to know how to launch one in a performance manner, i mean i can drive one and all that but if i ever wanted to race one what would be the way to do it..thanks

push right foot to floor, slide left foot off of clutch


okay i have no idea. the sticks i drive have four axles and gross 70,000#

well if your trying to launch something with serious power, just dumping the clutch will get you nothing but smoke. on the other hand, if you're launching a cavalier and you try dumping the clutch on that sucker, you'll most likely bog or stall... launching is something that'* gotta be learned hands-on rather than taught... just try and experiment with different rpm'* and you hit the sweet spot,...

naw, you won't stall a Cavy... the last manual car my family had, an '89 Corolla GT-* with a whopping 110hp 1.6L (handled like it was on rails... and held its own on the straights thanks to short gearing) easily spun the tires on aggressive clutch dumps.

hehe... you don't even need to let 'er rip from 5k... 2500 and a fast pop of the clutch will do it :P

my dad let me drive his 3.8 liter manual jaguar...

i dropped the clutch at 6000 RPM'*...that thing roasted some rubber!
