Somethin' Special
Another weekend is upon us, but it should be a special one for me. When my fiance and I got engaged, he gave me a beautiful sterling silver ring set with a diamond. I like sterling silver, and it'* the nicest to my oversensitive skin. Unfortunately, I recently went to have it sized and found out that due to the soft qualities of sterling, the stone will fall out before too long. Apparently, my ring was meant to be a special occasion ring, not an engagement ring that gets worn every day.
The aftermath: I picked out a bridal set that I LOVE. If all goes as planned, I'll get 'em this weekend.
Don't worry, the actual rings are finger sized, not bracelet sized.
T-minus four months until the date!

Don't let my wife see that!
We got engaged when I was poor as a churchmouse eons ago and the had to carve her engagement ring out of stone at the jeweler'* cave.
That set is very nice! I may have to get up off my wallet and someday buy a nice ring for Liz for an anniversary gift. Thanks for the inspiration!

She probably likes it whether or not it'* expensive! I didn't go for an expensive ring. It'* the guy I care about, not the rock

Hee, thanks. General rule of thumb: lots of diamonds LOOK expensive, but in reality, it'* a heckova lot cheaper to get a bunch of smaller rocks than one BIG one...meaning I'm ending up with a prettier ring that costs less! I think large rocks are gaudy.
I can think of about six zillion other things we could spend the couple grand we saved on...namely, getting two out of three of his vehicles fixed up and roadworthy, fixing the Bonn up, getting a camper for our honeymoon, and so on, and so forth.

If you haven't bought them yet, see if you can get that set in Platinum. My wife also prefers the white metals. After shopping for a while, we decided platinum would be the best valuse (durability and looks, not neccessarily price)
Nice rings, tho!!

I worry a little bit about the harder metals, because sometimes EMTs don't have metal cutters strong enough to cut the ring and save a loved one'* finger, MOS. This normally wouldn't be too much of a risk, but he'* a diesel mechanic (his ring is a BEAUTIFUl stainless steel one) and I do most of the work on our cars.
