Exactly, me too. Nothing is more bothersome than when people speak in slang.

Sounds racist. Ebonics have nothing to do with accents.
I don't know your intentions but i'm just calling it how i see it.

Before we get too far down a road we probably don't want to go, I, for one, don't think that because we in Michigan (or anywhere else) speak with our own accent (which makes me laugh, I talk normal...it'* all you non-Michigan people who speak funny anyways :P ) in any way of speaking butcher the English language, as some have suggested. English is like any other language-there are regional differences. Even you who claim to ennuciate and speak perfect English ( ), have nothing to talk about-there isn't one correct English per se, so don't make it sound like anyone is "incorrect".

It most certainly does. IMO, it'* just a lazy pronunciation of the language, much like geographical accents.

If you think that is racist or stereotypical, I guess the same could be said for the very subject of this thread...basically this thread addresses a stereotype of Michiganders.

It'* not laziness on the part of the people speaking it now, or probably ever. It'* passed down from generations. That accent, or variation of the language, in no way should reduce a person from being lazy or in any way less educated.
