Please do not edit, lock, or otherwise moderate this post. Its 100% PG-13 and noone is singled out for ridicule.

This website, and its members continue to amaze me- and not in a good way. I stopped myself from quitting here once before for two reasons, tech info and this forum section (performance and brainstorming) but the elitist additude around here is so incredibly overbearing! It seems that if you arent a long time member who follows the herd, you are an unwelcome outsider. Not that I long to be member of the month or anything, dont get me wrong- I would just like the chance to come on board and not feel so shut out. W T F?
I dont want to hear people chiming in about my "aditude" either- this is the internet, a text and picture based environment that may not convey a persons true meaning, thoughts, or feelings effictively. Blaming the cold shoulder routine on my posting demeanor is a cop out, and if that argument is all you have then save whatever input you have for someone else.
Another observation I have made is that sometimes it is okay to be mean to others, or to talk down and "jokingly" ridicule someones posts... and sometimes it isnt. What is that about? Double standards being enforced by the freaking forum admin and mods is impressive, again not in the positive sense of the word.
Im a pretty laid back person, but this forum is so childishly corrupt it frustrates me to the point of anger. Anyone else who is half the free-thinker I am would have walked before making post number 1. I didnt and I regret it. I know noone here will read this post and feel concern, or even try to look at my side of things, and I dont care, but I want to just put it out there. It needs to be said, I have nothing to lose here.

I thought it was laughable when I noticed the popularity of gaudy over-accessorizing your cars here, but now I have the entire picure. I see this place for what it really is, an elite clique of douchebags the likes of which havent been seen outside of Cuba or the USSR. The additude here makes me want to sell my Bonneville and get a car where I can join a community where people act differently. When I tell people who own GTPs that I have a Bonneville, I secretly hope that they dont know about this place. It is so bad here that I am an outsider and I even feel embarrased for your behavior. Who would have thought this of the owners of this make and model? Truely a paranormal phenomenon.

OK I am done with my rant. I predict a lot of you will make irrational responses to this post, go ahead. I promise not to respond.

Have a nice day.

Take care now Optmus...

I hope you didn't learn to much here on our little website. Its really to bad you don't like it here becuase most of us make some kind of attempt to please the masses.

Thats the great thing about the internet that you so elequently explained, if you dont like it..www.whereeveryouwannago.com is available. We can't please em all, so as long as 80% of our members are happy, I guess we're doing something right.

I'll leave it unlocked until it gets to out of control, but I'm certain that any member that will post in this thread won't agree.

Staffers, let this one go for now.

agreed, but anyways:

To be honest, you arent completely innocent, so dont play that card. And also, you called the club "Childish", I think your name calling in the post totally blows your point away. There are rare problems with members not getting along, so dont blame it all on the club. And about your posting, you come off arrogant (spelling? to tired to fix) in some of your post, which turns some members away from you. You arent all to blame, but neither is the club. If you dont like the club, take your browser to somewhere else. Thats the great part about the internet. :?

Um, no comment.

I guess you're entitled to your opinion.

Ummmm.......you'd be embarrassed to tell a GTP owner about this place??? Have you been on ClubGP? I think the little rant you displayed there is better suited for that club. Talk about childish, arrogant brats with no tolerance for anything outside of their own view. And that'* just amongst the GTP owners. Heaven forbid you don't have an L67 equipped GP, and god help you if you have a pre '97 one. You said this place almost makes you want to sell your car, and get a different model so you can join a different forum. Well I urge you to spend some time on message boards for other makes/models. If you have an ounce of sense, you'll change your tune about this place rather quickly.

I'm not going to say I know entirely what is going on on this board, or what you're speaking of, because I don't spend a whole lot of time here. But I will say this: I don't even have a Bonneville, yet I joined this forum. Why, you may ask? After browsing it a while, I found it to be the most tame, "normal" automotive message board I've found. As with any popular car, there are sure to be a few bad apples in the bunch (again, I'm fairly new here, and don't visit too frequently, so I don't know who you're referring to), but the amount of information and help being exchanged, and the speed at which it was being conducted was truly admirable to me. And so, I joined to lend a hand where I can (especially with the '88 - '91 Bonnys), and because I've always been a big fan of the Bonneville. The "type of owners" of this make and model are precisely why I did join.

I have been here longer than most, even the admins. Do you see me whine and bitch about not being car of the month, H.E.L.L. no. From day one I seen you and your attitude as a problem, and when someone would give you the same attitude back, you couldn't take it.

Sure I stopped coming here for a bit of time ( when my car was not yet on the road), but I came back. WHY, cause this place is like no other ( well maybe one other forum I go to but that is for trucks so it doesn't count).

You have here members that are like one big family, they help one another and I have seen them GIVE stuff for FREE to help other members. Not try and charge them retail price for something they are selling. You won't find that anywhere ( except that other forum I mentioned) but DEFINITELY NOT club GP, they would try to hang you by your nuts just for ***** and giggles

As I have said to members on one of MY message boards. Don't let the door hit you in the a.*.* on the way out.

Calling us elitest is just stupid. Have you taken a look around? Those of us who have moved on from our Bonnes (or never had one) are welcomed and we know it.

Another thing that baffles me about your complaints is how the Bonnevilles of this site are "overaccessorized". If nothing else, I think the cars around hear are not in least bit overly showy, and display a class of cars with dignity, class and the power enough to back up any claim made. Sure there are cars that have been done up in lights, chromes and other more showy features, but all these have been done with tastes which fit the long standing integrity of the Bonneville name. I think we're all proud of our cars (whatever they might be) and we are a well managed (thanks to the admins and mods) community which is accepting of realistic ideas and reasonable people. Seeing as you don't agree, good luck in your search to find a forum to better fit your needs.
