Tune'* coming along.
I started getting my MAF tuned this weekend. Found out it'* hard to tune the MAF while it is turned off. After that minor setback, things moved along pretty smoothly. I've been idling and starting up a little rough, and averaging 24mpg on my trips to and from Dixon.
After the tune she starts up clean, idles smooth, and I got 26mpg, that was probably being a little more aggressive than usual to. It was pretty rich, which I could tell since my plugs have been soaked in gas for a while.
LS1 MAF should be going on soon, going to put a resonator back on the exhaust as well.
Solid front motor mount is done, I'm liking the feel of the car with the solid motor mount. Don't really notice any extra vibration at idle or stoplights, but when I'm taking off I can feel the exhaust a little more. I'm ordering the rest of the hardware and should have it in time to bring a few to Dan'* meet.

Did you VE tune first?
I've recently heard that some guys believe certain cars don't use the VE until the maf fails. And this seems to be true. While other cars the VE does make a difference, with the maf connected.
My 97 does use the table. A quick VE and it idled and ran much smoother.

I VE tuned first, got that as close as I could, and left it like that for a while. It didn't run bad like that, but still had a noticeable hiccup when first starting up, and I would notice the RPM'* waver a little at a stop. Not something most people would notice, but I did.
It would make sense to me that the car didn't run off VE tables until the MAF failed. My car had no apparent issues before I started tuning, disable the MAF and it struggled to idle and misfired until I got the VE back in check. Even with the VE in check though, still ran rich until I tuned the MAF.
